Burning Bush

There is a tradition to relate Mary to the burning bush in the story of Moses. The bush was burning but not consumed by the flames.
Mary also contains in her womb that which the cosmos cannot even contain and yet she is not consumed or overtaken by it.
Here, Christ and the cosmos is contained in her womb in an icon style referred to as “Our Lady of the Sign.”
